2018 Stone Dwellers Cabernet Sauvignon

2018 Stone Dwellers Cabernet Sauvignon

Stone Dwellers Single Vineyard Collection is a range of wines grown in our family vineyards in the Strathbogie Ranges. Cloudless days, cool nights and ancient granite terroir allow our grapes to gradually develop the intense aromas and award winning flavours for which our region is famous for.

Deep purple in colour with ruby hues. Intense aromas of blackberry, cassis, sweet raisons are instantly recognisable complimented by hints of nutmeg and vanilla oak. The palate is powerful with juicy blackberries that combine with licquorice, mint chocolate and tannins that coat the mouth to give a full and firm finish.

“An outstanding example of how rich cool climate Cabernet can be” - Victor Nash, Chief Winemaker

  • Vintage Conditions

2018 was an excellent vintage. A mild to warm season. Moderate rainfall at the right times made fro ideal growing conditions. With balanced canopies and fruit loads, the warm ripening season allowed for balanced development of sugar, flavour and tannin.

  • Wine Making

The fruit was kept on skins for 8 days of fermentation to achieve a balance or primary fruit and savoury tannin complexity. The wine was then matured (100%) in barrel in some of the finest French oak.

  • Color, Nose and Palate

    Deep purple with ruby hues.

Intense blackberry, cassis and sweet raisons with hints of nutmeg and vanilla oak.

Juicy blackberry combined with licorice, chocolate and mouthcoating tannins to give a full and firm finish.
